Mugshot Released, Services Set For Popular Cook After Deadly Bergen County Hit-Run
The mugshot of the 29-year-old Kearny charged in the deadly hit-and-run that killed a cook at a popular Route 17 restaurant last week in Lyndhurst has been released. Steven G. Novillo-Cabrera was behind the wheel of a 2020 Honda Civic when he struck George Arnold, 57, as he was trying to cross Ridge Road at Milton Avenue around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. The Hackensack Police Department is expected to have its first chief in 14 years. Capt. Michael Antista is set to be sworn in at the Tuesday, Oct. 15 council meeting. Support is on the rise for survivors of a Hackensack man who was killed by an NJ Transit train earlier this month. Police have identified the person struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train on Tuesday morning, Oct. 1. Tameko Joseph, 42, of Hackensack, was struck by Bergen County Line train 1154 near the Garfield Station, near Outwater Lane, just before 7:50 a.m., a spokesperson for the agency said. A 33-year-old Bergen County man has been arrested on child sex assault charges, authorities said. Junior Reyes-Tejada, of Lodi, is accused of sexually assaulting a child under 13 years old in Lodi, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
