Injured Hiker Rescued By Boat After Fall In Palisades Park Near NJ/NY Line
An injured hiker had to be rescued by boat after falling near a rockslide along the Hudson River in Palisades Interstate Park near the New York/New Jersey border, authorities said. The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, near the Northern Rockslide/Giant Stairs by the Rockland County/New Jersey line in Palisades Park, the Piermont Fire Department announced. Paterson Man Assaults Two EMTs, Police Say
A 25-year-old Paterson man has been arrested and charged for assaulting two EMTs who were trying to help him during a medical emergency, authorities said. The attack happened on March 2, 2025, at approximately 5:25 a.m. when officers responded to 169 16th Ave. for a report of an aggravated assault, Paterson Police Department Officer in Charge Patrick B. Same Highly-Intoxicated Hawthorne Man Found Lying On Same Road Just Over 24 Hours Later
A 37-year-old Hawthorne man was found lying on the side of the same Glen Rock road twice, just over 24 hours later, highly-intoxicated each time, police said. A concern citizen reported finding the man lying next to a tree on the side of Doremus Avenue near Faber Field around 10:22 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, Glen Rock Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Officers determined the man was highly intoxicated, and unable to care for himself.
