NJ Pilot Dies In Fiery Plane Crash At NY Airport
An 80-year-old pilot from New Jersey was killed when his small plane crashed at a Hudson Valley airport on Saturday, Sept. 27, state police said in an update. Gerald "Jerry" Cotter, 80, of Milford (Hunterdon County), was attempting to take off from Kobelt/Wallkill Airport in Shawangunk, NY when the small plane crashed and caught fire around 2:25 p.m., NYSP said. Cotter, who was the only person on board, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.

Firefighters are battling a 19-acre brush fire that erupted Thursday night, Nov. 7, on the cliffs of the Palisades Interstate Park. NJ Transit, Amtrak Service Resumes After Power Outage, Brush Fire
Service to NJ Transit and Amtrak trains was disrupted for the second time this week on Thursday, June 20 due to both power issues and brush fires along the NJ Turnpike, officials said. Amtrak service between Philadelphia and New Haven had been suspended while NJ Transit service in and out of NY Penn Station was also suspended, due to power issues on the Amtrak line, NJ Transit said.
