Cops ID Man Struck, Killed On Route 37 In Toms River A 56-year-old Ocean County Man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 37 on the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 4., authorities said. At 9:02 p.m., a 2021 Honda Civic driven by a Barnegat man was traveling westbound on Route 37, when it hit Jason Matthews, an Island Heights resident, as he was crossing the roadway, Toms River police said. As a result of the crash, Matthews was transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River where he was pronounced dead, police said.  Multiple lanes of Route 37 were shut down for several hours while the investigation …

Video Shows Van Explosion That Caused Gridlock On Main Morris County Roadway Daily Voice has obtained footage of a van fire, including a minor explosion, that closed a Morris County intersection on Thursday, Dec. 5 (scroll for video). The incident occurred on Route 10 in Randolph near Denville, just past the Mount Pleasant Turnpike, and involved a painter’s van, according to Denville Police Capt. Scott Welsch. The van's driver had pulled over after noticing smoke and entered a nearby business to seek help, Welsch said. A passerby spotted the van in flames and called 911. Driver, 32, Airlifted In Garden State Parkway Rollover Crash, Police Say (Update) One person was airlifted in a crash on the Garden State Parkway in Ocean County on Sunday, May 19, authorities said. A Honda passenger car and Ford pickup truck were both heading south when the two collided near milepost 83.8 around 3:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
