A stretch of Route 287 was closed by an overturned tractor-trailer Thursday evening, Oct. 31 in Somerset County. The NJDOT site shows it happened in the northbound lanes at Exit 12 in Franklin Township. As of 6:50 p.m., all lanes were closed.

Motorcyclist Killed After Being Ejected, Run Over In Route 280 Crash: Police (

A 52-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning crash on Route 280 in Hudson County, police said. Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Silas was ejected then run over by a Dodge, Lebron said. He died as a result of the accident.

Police in Rutherford are investigating a Route 3 crash that they say was likely caused by a driver in the express lanes trying to cut across to the local lanes Sunday, Aug. 11. A 51-year-old man from Sussex was in a Honda Fit was in the left lane of the westbound express lanes when he tried to cut across the roadway to get to the local exits near Park Avenue when he clipped a Toyota Highlander around 4:20 p.m., Rutherford Police Chief John Russo said. Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc across New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 9. As of 2:30 p.m., thousands of residents were without power and multiple roadways were closed due to downed wires and related crashes. Woman Cited For Careless Driving After Overturning Vehicle: Montgomery PD
A driver was given a summons for careless driving after their vehicle overturned in Montgomery Township on Thursday, July 18, authorities said. At 11:58 a.m., first responders were on the scene of an overturned vehicle at Route 518 near Brecknell Way, Montgomery Police said in a release. A 45-year-old Easton, PA man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Tuesday, July 2, authorities said. At 10:04 p.m., a BMW motorcycle traveling eastbound on Route 78 in Greenwich Township struck the back of a 2017 Toyota Camry, Charles Marchan, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist, whose name has not been released, was ejected and was subsequently struck by a 2020 Toyota Camry, killing him, Marchan said. The two-car crash occurred at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 6 southbound near Adams Lane, according to the NJDOT. One of the drivers suffered minor injuries, North Brunswick police said.
