The 48-year-old Plainfield man was walking in the middle of the highway when he was struck by a white Ford Econoline van in the westbound lanes just past France Drive around 8:30 p.m., Branchburg Police Capt. Would-Be Jumper Hospitalized After Closing Lanes Of George Washington Bridge (Update) A would-be George Washington Bridge jumper was hospitalized Tuesday night, Sept. 24, after bringing traffic along the bridge to a halt, authorities said. A spokesperson for the Port Authority Police Department confirmed the investigation but not have any further information as of 7:40 p.m. Wednesday morning, a spokesperson said that the incident was reported at 5:42 p.m. near the 179th Street ramp in the westbound lanes. All lanes along the ramp were closed. The man was removed and taken to a local hospital, the PAPD said. Traffic resumed at 7:24 p.m.

Kyle Silas, of Orange, was heading west on a Fly Wing electric motorcycle when he struck a Ford sedan near milepost 16 in Kearny around 4:35 a.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. Silas was ejected then run over by a Dodge, Lebron said. He died as a result of the accident.

Dump Truck Flips Injuring Driver On I-195 (Updated) There was a crash with injuries involving an overturned dump truck on Interstate 195, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12 on I-195 westbound East of Exit 7 in Robbinsville, according to the NJDOT. A dump truck lost directional control, ran off the roadway to the right, struck a tree, and overturned, New Jersey State Police said. The driver of the dump truck was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said.  The crash remains under investigation.
