The purple and pink lights were visible due to a Solar Storm, or a Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun on Tuesday, Oct. 8 which arrived in the area Thursday. Pete Stendel, 68, of Long Branch was diagnosed with an orbital fracture to his left eye and has since been released from the hospital, reports said.
