Wrong-Way DUI Driver Kills PA Man On Route 80: Police, Court Records
A 31-year-old Pennsylvania man was killed by a wrong-way intoxicated driver on Route 80 early Sunday, Feb. 2, authorities said. Victor Peters, 45, of Parsippany was heading east in the westbound lanes of Route 80 in a Mercedes SUV in Rockaway Township when he struck a Ford pickup truck driven by Destinn McKnight around 2:20 a.m., according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan. McKnight died while Peters was seriously injured, Marchan said. A wrong-way driver from New York was killed, and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the New Jersey Turnpike early Sunday morning, Jan. 19, New Jersey State Police said. A 25-year-old engineer from Mercer County was killed this week by a wrong-way driver in Massachusetts, where she lived and worked, police said. Geetika Guruprasad, of West Windsor, died just after 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, in Littleton, a suburb of Boston. Guruprasad was driving her Mazda CX-5 on Route 2 when an SUV traveling on the wrong side of the road collided with her, Massachusetts State Police said. A wrong-way crash on the Garden State Parkway left a passenger seriously hurt, authorities said. The crash occurred at 11:12 p.m. on Sunday, June 12 near milepost 48.4 in Port Republic in Atlantic County, New Jersey State Police said. Police: Camden County Man 5 Minutes From Home Killed By Wrong-Way Teen Driver
A 31-year-old man was just five minutes from home when he was struck and killed by a wrong-way driver in Camden County over the weekend, police said. Javargo C. Mason, Sicklerville in Winslow Township, was driving south on Sicklerville Road when he was struck by the teen in a 2001 Nissan Altima, police said. The teen crossed over the double yellow line and struck Mason's 2015 red Honda CRV, authorities said.
