UPDATE: Authorities on Saturday confirmed the death of a resident in a late-night Paterson house fire that responders said could have been much worse. Firefighters moved quickly to keep the four-alarm Lafayette Street blaze from spreading, snuffing the threat such a fire posed to the neighborhood of tightly bunched wood-frame houses barely two blocks from the Passaic River. Pro NJ Wrestler Michael Cammett AKA 'Golden Boy' Drowns In Delaware River
The New Jersey wrestling community was mourning the loss of a 24-year-old professional grappler who drowned in the Delaware River in New York Sunday, authorities said. Crews recovered Michael Cammett's body from the water in Lumberland (Sullivan County), located near Pennsylvania, according to New York State Police. The North Arlington (Bergen County) native went to the river with friends using a pair of inflatable rafts tethered together around 3 p.m., authorities said. Authorities Try To ID Occupant Killed In Fiery Stolen Car Crash In Woodland Park
A stolen car slammed head-on into a tree and burst into flames in Woodland Park before dawn Tuesday, killing an as-yet unidentified occupant, authorities said. Members of West Paterson Fire Department doused the blaze and extricated the deceased victim after the 2012 Ford Mustang crashed on McBride Avenue near Hughes Place around 5:30 a.m., Acting Police Chief John Uzzalino said. "It was a bad scene," Mayor Keith Kazmark said.
