James T. Stevenson, of Burlington, died at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden on April 16, according to an obituary published by Page Funeral Home. He was 55 years old. Jim had worked as a police dispatcher for several departments in Burlington County before the 911 operations were merged into Central Dispatch.. A volunteer firefighter, he also was a member of the Burlington City Fire Police and served as a fire photographer, his obituary said. Suspects Arrested During Standoff With South Jersey Police
A Camden man shot at police during an attempted traffic stop and then locked himself in a garage in a four-hour standoff that ended with his arrest, authorities said. Two other suspects were arrested. Otto Simpson, 29, of Camden, was one of four people in a car that Camden County Police officers tried to pull over on the 2700 block of North Saunders Street at about 2:45 p.m, Wednesday, Nov. 9, Camden County police said. A "medical hazmat" incident was reported at a day. care center and elementary school in the City of Camden, according to developing and unconfirmed reports. There was a report at about noon on Wednesday, March 30 that a child had drunk milk contaminated with hand sanitizer at St|Riletta T. Cream Early Childhood Center at 1875 Mulford St. There was an earlier unconfirmed report that busloads of hazmat victims had been transported to Cooper University Hospital.
