A brand-new study has uncovered surprising trends in teen phone use during school hours, raising fresh concerns about digital distractions in the classroom. FDA Approves ZYN Nicotine Pouches For Sale, Restricts Ads Targeting Teens
The Food and Drug Administration has authorized the sales of 20 types of ZYN nicotine pouches amid concerns about children and teens using the products. The decision allows ZYN nicotine pouches to be legally marketed in the U.S. to adults aged 21 and older, the FDA said in a news release on Thursday, Jan. 6. The small natural fiber pouches are designed to be placed between the gum and lip. Teen Girl Dismembered In Boating Accident Off NJ Coast, Report Says
A boating accident was under investigation at a New Jersey beach, police said Sunday, Aug. 25. Harvey Cedars police did not detail that accident and said only that it was "tragic" and under investigation with New Jersey State Police. According to NBC Philadelphia citing a source, a teen girl was dismembered after being run over by the boat, operated by her father. 'We Are Pushed To Our Limit': Police Increasing Teen Curfew Enforcement In Jersey Shore City
One city in Atlantic County is cracking down on unsupervised teens late at night after several issues in other parts of the Jersey Shore, authorities said. The Margate City Police Department posted on Facebook on Wednesday, June 12 that officers will take "a more proactive approach" to enforcing the city's curfew for children. This NJ Health Department Is Paying Teens To Star In Drug, Vaping PSAs
The Ocean County Health Department is casting teenagers for drug and vaping public service announcements. The OCHD is casting a diverse group of teens ages 14 to 18 to act in "substance use" and vaping prevention PSAs, the casting call says. A total of 19 actors are needed for both speaking and background roles, with multiple PSAs to shoot. Teens Wounded In Atlantic City Shooting
Two 15-year-old boys were wounded in shootings in Atlantic City, authorities said. On Sunday, Jan. 22, at 1:38 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of Baltic Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Police found evidence of gunfire but did not locate a victim.
