FBI Bust Nets 7 Arrests, 8 Illegal Weapons After Newark Shooting Spree: Police
Authorities recovered eight illegal weapons and arrested seven individuals in what Newark police are calling "an intense violence reduction operation."
The FBI and the US Attorney General's Office were among the agencies deployed in the city's hotspots following four non-fatal shootings that injured eight people Tuesday, Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. O’Hara said.

Authorities: Ring Got 30,000 Painkiller Pills With Prescription Blanks Swiped From NJ Hospitals
Using prescription blanks stolen from hospitals in Bergen and Passaic counties, a crew used a single pharmacy to get its hands on 30,000 high-dose oxycodone pills, including a year’s worth of painkillers prescribed to a dead man, authorities charged.
The volume eventually gave them away, state and federal law enforcement officials said.
Milagros Santiago, 43, of Haledon, was working as a pharmacy technician at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson when she swiped prescription blanks, state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal said.

Atlantic City Police Seize 5 Guns; Arrest 6 On Heroin, Cocaine Charges
Atlantic City police rounded up six suspects in connection with multiple drug-dealing and weapons charges, authorities said.
On Friday, a warranted search resulted in the arrest of two men and the recovery of narcotics.
Members of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Special Investigations Section searched a home on the 2600 block of Pacific Avenue. During the search, detectives seized two ounces of cocaine, 176 bags of heroin, prescription pills, a small amount of marijuana, and items used to distribute the narcotics, according to Lt. Kevin Fair, a police department spokesman.
