Nearly 20 people have been arrested in a major crackdown on drugs and illegal guns in Atlantic City, authorities said.
The Atlantic City Police Department announced the 19 arrests in a news release on Wednesday, Nov. 27. A weeks-long operation targeted drug activity and "quality-of-life issues" in the neighborhoods surrounding Florida, Bellevue, and Texas avenues.

Police are looking for an Atlantic City man after they found drugs and a stolen gun, authorities said.
Joel Snyder, 45, is wanted on 14 weapons and drug charges, the Atlantic City Police Department said in a news release. Wilbert Deberry Jr., 53, was arrested after a home and vehicle were raided on Wednesday, Aug. 7.
Police executed a search warrant on the home and vehicle on the 1500 block of Beach Avenue after a two-month drug-dealing investigation. Detectives seized more than 15 pounds of marijuana, 23 grams of cocaine, and items used for packaging and selling drugs.

A traffic stop by a New Milford police officer turned up dozens of packages swiped from various victims' homes, authorities said.
Freddy Collado, 38, of Perth Amboy, was taken into custody after a computer check by Officer Daniel O'Neill found an outstanding traffic warrant following the Milford Avenue stop for tinted windows and no front license plate, Capt. Kevin Van Saders said.

A wanted Paterson man was carrying a stolen gun loaded with hollow-point bullets when Elmwood Park police arrested him, authorities said.
Brandon Diaz, 21, was driving a 2005 Honda Accord with an expired registration when he was stopped over the weekend, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
They quickly learned that Diaz was wanted out of Paterson for aggravated assault with a firearm, Foligno said.
