Bicyclist, 14, Dies Days After Route 38 Crash, State Police Say
A 14-year-old bicyclist hospitalized after being struck by an SUV in Burlington County a week ago died two days later, authorities said.
The teenager was hit on the westbound side of Route 38 at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14 as he tried to cross the highway near milepost 19.1 in Southampton, New Jersey State Police said.
Emergency workers brought the 14-year-old to an area hospital where he died on Sunday, June 16, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a State Police spokesman.
The driver, 44, from the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township, has not been charged, Lebron said.

South Jersey Woman Practiced Law Without A License: Police
A South Jersey woman is accused of defrauding clients by practicing law without a license, authorities said.
In September 2022, Evesham police commenced an investigation into the alleged fraud. Additionally, this suspect was allegedly stealing money from her employer, in excess of $100,000, police said.
The suspect was identified as Rebecca Cronin, 34, of Southampton, police said. Cronin was practicing law, without a license, under the name of Rebecca Shugars, they said.

NY Man Gets 6 Years For 'Heartbreaking' South Jersey DWI Crash That Killed Friend: Prosecutor
A 21-year-old man from New York has been sentenced to six years in New Jersey state prison for causing the death of a friend while driving impaired, authorities said.
Anthony Lorenz, of Ossining, must serve a little over five years of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole, according to Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina.
Lorenz pleaded guilty last month in Superior Court in Mount Holly to charges of vehicular homicide, assault by auto and driving while intoxicated, Coffina said on Thursday, May 26.

Pickup Truck Driver Killed In South Jersey Crash: State Police
A 65-year-old motorist from Burlington County was killed when he collided with an SUV, authorities said.
Mark G. Spang, of Medford, was killed in the crash involving his Chevy Silverado, a New Jersey State Police spokeswoman said.
Jacob B. Dischert, 25, who was operating a Jeep Grand Cherokee, was treated for minor injuries, Trooper Brandi Slota said.
The crash occurred at 7:54 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, in Southampton when Dischert, who was southbound on Eayrestown Road, slammed into the side of Spring's pickup eastbound on Route 616, she said.
The crash remains under investigation.
