: Hiker Who Went Missing In Ringwood State Park Found In Rockland
UPDATE: A 63-year-old hiker from Wayne who'd gone missing in Ringwood State Park was found a few miles away the next day across the state line in Rockland County, authorities said. Police say they can thank Ring and Facebook. Carol Fumiko Heimbach was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern after she was located in Sloatsburg around 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 4, said Caryn Shinske, the senior press officer for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. Demolition Derby Begins In Ridgewood, Ends With Fleeing Driver's Capture At Paramus Home Goods
An impaired driver who fled police in Ridgewood hit several vehicles with a sedan before he was finally captured just off Route 17 in Paramus. Lt. Brian Pullman and Officer Paul Knapp spotted a damaged BMW 535 that apparently was involved in a crash at the corner of North Maple and Franklin avenues in Ridgewood around 7 p.m. Thursday, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. Ridgewood Police Roll Out Pride-Themed Vehicle
Ridgewood police on Friday unveiled a new Pride-themed patrol vehicle – a Chevy Tahoe emblazoned with two rainbow stripes, flags and lettering. “We are proud to serve and protect all citizens, regardless of their sexual identification or orientation,” village Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said. “We see this patrol vehicle as a visual reminder of our intent to be an inclusive law enforcement organization.” The new vehicle was on display at Saturday’s Pride Celebration at Van Neste Square.
