Pedestrian Killed In Route 40 Hit-And-Run In South Jersey, Troopers Say A Vineland man was killed in an early morning hit-and-run crash in Pittsgrove Township, authorities said. Allen Miller Jr., 45, died in the pedestrian crash on Route 40, a state police spokesperson said on Monday, Sept 30. Troopers responded to the wreck near milepost 20.5 at around 2:56 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Investigators said an unknown vehicle was heading east on Route 40 when it struck Miller and left the area. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remained under investigation.
