Filipino Government Attorney Shot Dead In Philadelphia Uber With Mom
A 36-year-old government attorney from the Philippines was shot in the head and killed during a trip to Philadelphia this weekend, the country's consulate general confirmed. John Albert Laylo was in the back of an Uber with his mom when nearly 15 shots were fired into the rear window and driver's side of the car at 38th and Spruce Streets around 4:10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, police said. Man Arrested For Shooting GF, 1-Year-Old Daughter In Philadelphia, Police Say
A man who told authorities he wasn't home when his girlfriend and 1-year-old daughter were shot in the Kensington section of Philadelphia Thursday has been arrested in the incident. Desmond Bruson, 34, is accused of shooting the 33-year-old woman and child in a home on the 1100 block of South 56th Street sometime before 2 a.m., city police said. Bruson apparently had told police he left the house for 10 minutes and "found the victim unresponsive in the second-floor bedroom bleeding from the nose" when he got back. Philadelphia Man Arrested In Triple Norristown Shooting, Police Say
A 38-year-old Philadelphia man was in custody in connection with a triple shooting that left two women hospitalized Monday night in Norristown, authorities said. Arriving officers found two women with multiple gunshot wounds in the 500 block of Green Street around 11:10 p.m. Norristown police said. The women were airlifted to Penn Presbyterian Hospital and are listed in stable condition, police said.
