Pedestrian Killed In Route 40 Hit-And-Run In South Jersey, Troopers Say A Vineland man was killed in an early morning hit-and-run crash in Pittsgrove Township, authorities said. Allen Miller Jr., 45, died in the pedestrian crash on Route 40, a state police spokesperson said on Monday, Sept 30. Troopers responded to the wreck near milepost 20.5 at around 2:56 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Investigators said an unknown vehicle was heading east on Route 40 when it struck Miller and left the area. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remained under investigation.

Man Drove Drunk In Crash That Killed South Jersey Pedestrian, Police Say A Pittsgrove Township man was accused of driving while drunk and killing a Millville man crossing a street, authorities said. Cumberland County Driver Indicted For Leaving Scene Of Fatal Pedestrian Crash A 66-year-old Cumberland County man has been indicted for leaving the scene of a hit-and-run pedestrian crash, authorities said. Steven Clark was unlicensed at the time of the crash, Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. His minivan was traveling on North Pearl Street in Bridgeton around 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 17, 2022, when prosecutors say the vehicle struck Leonardo Sanchez-Salas as he crossed the street, the prosecutor said.
