A 36-year-old man from Ocean County has been charged with killing his father, authorities said. Justin Donaldson, of Lacey Township, was charged with murder on Wednesday, Sept. 7, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer and Lacey Township Police Chief Michael C. DiBella. A 30-year cold case investigation has led to identifying the alleged killer, who has since died, authorities said. The multi-agency probe "conclusively identified John Pelletier, formerly of Barnegat Township, as the individual responsible for the murder of Deborah 'Debbie' Ann Bloomquist, 30, of Ocean Township (Monmouth County), in Barnegat in 1991," Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Authorities have released the name of a pedestrian killed while crossing a road in Toms River. Joseph L. Witty Jr. 39 of Toms River, died at about 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, while crossing Route 37, Toms River police said. He was not in a crosswalk when he was struck, police said. A family of three Chinese nationals were killed when the Maryland driver of the car they were in ran a red light in Ocean County, authorities said. Tina Dung, 21, was stopped for the traffic light, but then went through the red signal and collided with a Legacy Towing flatbed wrecker heading east on Lakehurst Road around 12:25 a.m. Friday, July 22, Toms River police said. Three people were killed in a crash in Toms River, authorities said. The collision occurred at about 12:25 a.m. Friday, July 22 at Lakehurst Road and Hospital Drive, Toms River police said. Teen Boy Dead, Sister Rescued After Sand Collapses In On NJ Beach
An 18-year-old boy died and his 17-year-old sister was rescued when sand collapsed in on them while they were digging at a New Jersey beach Tuesday, May 17, authorities said. Levy Caverley, of Maine, was identified as the victim by Toms River police.
