A 3-year-old was found unharmed in Jersey City after an AMBER alert was issued out of Newark on Tuesday, Oct. 31. At 8:15 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Wilson Avenue after a vehicle was carjacked with the child left inside, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. At 10:30 a.m., police found the vehicle in Jersey City with the child inside and unharmed, Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE: Kendall Howard, the accused East Orange sniper wanted for shooting two Newark police officers, has been captured after a massive search, sources tell Daily Voice. Howard was arrested Wednesday morning by Newark police on two attempted murder charges, sources with direct knowledge of the incident say. Details surrounding his arrest were not immediately clear. NJ School Counselor Brought Boy Into Office & Touched His Private Parts: Prosecutor
A 31-year-old school counselor from New Jersey has been accused of sexually assaulting a male student, authorities said. James D. Rone-Lewis brought the student into his office at Avon Avenue Elementary School in Newark on or about Oct. 21, and touched his penis, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. He was released on pretrial monitoring pending disposition of the charges. Rone-Lews was suspended without pay by the school and is barred from any contact with the victim or the school.

The man who had a hot pink dye pack explode on him moments after robbing a Newark bank was arrested Monday, authorities said. City resident Esau Grant walked into the Springfield Avenue Capital One Bank Saturday morning and slipped the teller a note saying, "I have a gun give me all the money from the register please, and no one will get hurt," Newark Public Safety Director Brian A. A 4-year-old boy who was found unresponsive after falling from sixth-story window in Newark was hospitalized Friday, authorities said. The incident occurred just before 2:20 p.m. from a building on Oxford Street near Raymond Boulevard, Newark Public Safety Director Brian O’Hara said. A Monmouth County man was arrested for illegal dumping in Newark, authorities said. John Clark, of Highlands, was spotted by a city code enforcement member pouring unused concrete into a storm drain near Roseville Avenue and Orange Street around 11 a.m. Thursday, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Man Burns Face After Trying To Light Cigarette Sparking Oxygen Tank Fire
A Newark man was taken to the hospital with burns after an apparent oxygen tank fire, authorities said. Firefighters responded to the 60s block of Mount Pleasant Avenue on a call of an oxygen tank rupture around 8:05 a.m. Saturday, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose. While there was no fire, the man had burns on his face and was subsequently taken to Saint Barnabas Medical Center, according to Ambrose and RLS Media. Two brothers have been indicted in connection with the murder of a 30-year-old woman from Newark, authorities said.
