Motorist Killed In Wrong-Way Garden State Parkway Crash:

A 29-year-old man from Morris County — driving the wrong way on the Garden State Parkway — was killed in a collision with a pickup truck, authorities said. Hamilton W. Smith 3rd, of Lincoln Park, was driving south in the northbound lanes when he collided with a pickup headed north, New Jersey State Police said. The crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 27 in the express lanes at milepost 112 in Middletown Township. The impact caused the pickup to overturn, police said. It was not immediately clear if the other driver was seriously hurt. The crash remains under investigation.

Deadly Home Shooting Probed In Central Jersey
One person died in a shooting at a house in Central Jersey Monday, according to developing reports and various news outlets. The incident occurred at 10:13 a.m. on Borden Road in the Oak Hill section of Middletown Township, police said in a press statement. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office was actively investigating and said there was no threat to the public. State troopers are investigating a serious crash on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County, authorities said. The crash was reported at 8:17 a.m. Friday in Middletown Township at milepost 111.4 in the southbound express lanes, according to Sgt. Philip Curry, a state police spokesman.
