South Jersey Driver Indicted In Hit-Run Crash Killing 10-Year-Old Girl: Prosecutor
A grand jury has indicted a Cumberland County woman who allegedly struck a child with her SUV, then drove away without helping the girl, authorities said.
Sierra A. Thomas, 28, of Bridgeton, was driving on May 10, 2023, when police said her SUV struck Larissa Muniz as she crossed East Broad Street in Bridgeton near a Wawa.
Larissa, 10, died of her injuries 18 days later.
Thomas initially was charged on May 30 with second-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in the death of another, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.

Release Revoked For Woman Indicted In Crash That Killed Off-Duty Police Officer: Prosecutor
Judge Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant revoked the release of a woman who was involved in the June 19, 2020, crash that killed off-duty New Jersey Human Services Police Officer, Michael Luko Sr., authorities said.
Taquaysha Bell, 30, of Trenton, had been indicted for vehicular homicide and assault by auto while DWI.
On Dec. 21, 2021, Bell was released from jail with conditions pending trial over the State’s objection.

Video: Haworth Nanny, Baby Stroller Struck By Hit-Run Van, Fleeing Rockland Driver Caught
A Haworth nanny and an infant she was pushing in a stroller were struck Wednesday by a van driven by a FedEx worker from Rockland who fled the scene, authorities said.
A police sergeant in neighboring Demarest stopped David Gutfeld, 56, of Airmont a short time later, Haworth Police Chief Michael Gracey said.
The child was OK, but the 55-year-old nanny had to be hospitalized, Gracey said, adding that the entire incident was captured on home security video.
“Lucky thing the child was strapped in securely,” he said.

An Atlantic County Grand Jury has returned an indictment of aggravated manslaughter against an Absecon man who was involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 48 year-old Galloway Township woman last spring, authorities said.
