A dog named Daisy got her head stuck in a tire rim but was freed by first responders in Gloucester County, authorities said. Initial efforts to free the dog with soap and water on Thursday, March 21 were unsuccessful, Franklinville Volunteer Fire Co. Firefighters shared a 7-minute clip of the rescue process. The dog was wrapped in a blanket as Franklin Township Police Lt Brandon Volpe used his personal plasma cutters to free Daisy from the rim. Deadly Fire Rips Through Atlantic County Apartment Complex
One person died in an apartment fire in Atlantic County over the weekend, authorities said. Franklin Township police were called to the apartment on the 1000 block of Summer Avenue in the Minotola section of Buena at around 8:40 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. Firefighters from Atlantic, Cumberland, and Gloucester counties battled the fire for several hours. A 94-year-old man died of his injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Gloucester County, authorities said. John Haynicz, of Monroeville, was driving a pickup that collided with an SUV at 2:27 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25 at Delsea Drive and Paul Street in Franklinville, according to Franklin Township police. Haynicz was conscious when police took him to Inspira Medical Center Mullica Hill, but they learned on Saturday that he was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden where he died of his injuries, police said. Man, 47, Killed When Pickup Strikes Pole In South Jersey: Police
A 47-year-old man was killed when his pickup truck was involved in a one-vehicle crash, authorities said. Walter Green IV, 47, of Monroeville, was driving north on the 2500 block of Delsea Drive in Franklin Township when his truck ran off the road and hit a utility pole at 10:38 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, according to Franklin Township police. First responders found Green unresponsive and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

A 63-year-old woman from South Jersey was killed when a deer leaped through her windshield, NJ Advance Media reports. Karen Juliano of Newfield died as the deer busted through her front and back windshields, police told the outlet. Child Struck, Driver Arrested In South Jersey Hit-Run Crash
A 51-year-old driver from Glouchester County was charged in a hit-and-run crash involving an 11-year-old pedestrian. The victim was taken to Cooper Hospital and is in stable condition. The boy was walking along the 500 block of Oak Avenue in Franklin Township at about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9 when he was hit by a passing vehicle, according to Franklin Township Police. Paul Mensch, of Malaga, was charged with assault by auto and released on a summons pending a court appearance. Police said they recovered evidence belonging to the vehicle at the scene and obtained surveillance video.

Victim Of NJ Sports Bar Shooting, Chad Stuart, Becomes Organ Donor
The man shot in the head outside of a South Jersey bar allegedly by a former US Marine over the weekend has died, and his organs will save the lives of others, family members tell Daily Voice. Chad Stuart, 31, of Vineland, was pronounced brain dead on Sept. 24, his sister Mikaela Guzman said. Pickup Driver Killed, Collides With Dump Truck At Wawa: Police
A 63-year-old man from Cumberland County was killed when his pickup truck collided with a dump truck while pulling out of a Wawa parking lot, authorities said. Michael Berezin, of Vineland, was pulling out of the lot on West Boulevard in Malaga at about 5:45 a.m. Friday, May 13 when the fatal crash occurred, Franklin Township police said. The dump truck was driven by a 34-year-old man from Delaware who was not hurt. Berezin died of his injuries, police said.

A 41-year-old man from Middlesex County has been arrested in connection with a series of crashes that left a bicyclist and police officer injured, authorities said. The incident began at 1:29 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 when the bicyclist, a 40-year-old East Brunswick man, was riding on Route 522, crossing over Route 130 to Fresh Ponds Road.
