Police Prevent Woman From Jumping Off South Jersey Overpass Police in South Jersey talked a woman out of jumping off an overpass, authorities said. On Tuesday, July 26, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Gloucester Township Police Emergency Communications Center received several 9-1-1 calls reporting a female who appeared to be preparing to jump off the Route 42 south overpass at exit 10A. Gloucester Township police and New Jersey State Police Troopers arrived and observed a woman sitting on the bridge abutment, approximately 30 feet above the Black Horse Pike.
