An accused dealer of crack cocaine who worked for a doctor's office allegedly stole and forged blank prescriptions in Ocean County, authorities said. On Friday July 14, the Brick Township Street Crimes Unit made a warranted search at a residence in Berkeley Township, police said. A 57-year-old art teacher was charged with drug-related crimes after authorities in Union County said he overdosed in a classroom. Frank Thompson was found unresponsive on the floor of a second-floor classroom at Roosevelt Intermediate School around 9:05 a.m. Nov. 29, 2022, Westfield Police Chief Christopher Battiloro said. A convicted child molester from Paterson was the gunman who shot and killed an out-of-county man behind the city public library last week, authorities said. Ex-con Jaquan Housey, 33, was charged with murder and weapons offenses in the slaying of Rodney Phelps, 39, of Warren County’s Washington Township. Five suspects have been arrested on various drug charges following complaints from residents about illegal sales in their neighborhood, authorities said. Detectives with the Special Investigations Section conducted a surveillance operation near South Carolina and Baltic avenues on Wednesday morning, Atlantic City police said.
