Gang Member Gets Prison Time For Possessing Handgun In South Jersey: Prosecutor
A 22-year-old man from Atlantic City was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for possessing a loaded handgun and other crimes, authorities said. Altarik Hopkins was additionally sentenced on Monday, Dec. 4 for resisting arrest by flight and obstructing the administration of law, according to the Atlantic City Prosecutor's Office. He must serve 42 months of the sentence before he is eligible for parole, the prosecutor said. Support is on the rise for the family of a beloved Philadelphia high school athlete who died the same day he was diagnosed with leukemia. Kyle W. Limper died Thursday, April 13 as a result of a blood infection caused by leukemia, his obituary says. He was 16. A Trenton ex-con who'd been free all of a month when he threatened a woman with a gun -- after serving time in connection with a killing -- is headed to federal prison for nine years.
