An 18-year-old Mays Landing resident was arrested and charged after his attempted carjacking was stopped by two people on Saturday, Jan. 11, authorities said. At 3:17 p.m., at the 6200 block of Sears Avenue, a 53-year-old Mays Landing man was delivering takeout when he was assaulted by Ray'Quan Summers, who attempted to take his 2016 Honda Civic, Township of Hamilton police said. Toms River Firefighter Injured At 'Santa Detail' Event Three Days Before Christmas
A firefighter was injured during a "Santa detail" event in Toms River, the second incident of its kind in New Jersey on the weekend before Christmas, officials said. The firefighter suffered a minor injury during the event on Sunday, Dec. 22, according to a news release from the Toms River Fire Department. Atlantic City has a police officer assigned to each school in its district, officials said. The city's government, police department, and school district agreed to put an officer in each K-8 school and two officers in Atlantic City High School throughout the 2024-25 academic year, the city said in a news release.
