A 29-year-old South Jersey man tried disarming a police officer and assaulted an EMT after breaking into a local home in an attempt to sexually assault two girls, police said.
Edward Lynch was charged with burglary, disarming a police officer, attempted aggravated sexual assault, resisting arrest, and more, following the incident early Saturday, Nov. 11 in Bellmawr, Chief William Perna said.

UPDATE: A third member of a burglary ring that targeted Asian-American small business owners in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware has pleaded guilty, authorities confirmed.
Kevin Jackson, 57, of Rahway, was part of a second-story crew that the FBI said worked from a hit list of dozens of homes in four states based on “stereotype and opportunity."
One of Jackson's associates told detectives that Asians were targeted “because it was believed that the victims kept large sums of currency and jewelry in their residences,” an FBI complaint says.

Atlantic City police arrested a man who broke into City Hall on Sunday, Oct. 1 and stayed there overnight, authorities said.
Sherif Ramadan, 39, of Atlantic City was charged with burglary, police said.
On October 2, 2023, at 8:50 a.m., police Officers Justin Peyton, Hiram Mercado, and Rusty Bouffard responded to City Hall in the 1300 block of Bacharach Boulevard for an unauthorized person in the building found by staff members.

A 50-year-old man from South Jersey has been found guilty of sexual assault on an ex-girlfriend whom he held captive with a hatchet, authorities said.
Julio Sigurani, Jr., of the Rosenhayn section of Deerfield Township, was convicted on Tuesday, Sept. 19, on eight counts including sexual assault, kidnapping, burglary, terroristic threats and weapons offenses, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae.
The charges stem from a sexual assault that occurred on Aug. 13, 2020, in Deerfield.
