Man Arrested Breaking Into Cars On Jersey Shore: Police
A 33-year-old man from Burlington has been arrested for breaking into cars in Brick Township, authorities said. On Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 12:55 a.m. Brick Police responded to Windsor Road for a suspicious person attempting to enter parked motor vehicles. Ptl. Scott Mesmer responded to the area and quickly located a suspect who matched the description provided by the caller, police said. Police Rescue 83 Cats From Jersey Shore Home
Police in Brick said they rescued 83 cats and three dogs from a home in the township. On Thursday evening, May 4, Brick police said they had received a call from a resident on Mantoloking Road requesting police assistance for "an excessive number of cats inside the residence." Police requested assistance from Berkeley Hazmat as well as Brick Township Fire District #1. Once conditions were determined to be safe, authorities began removing the animals, police said. A 30-year-old woman from the Jersey Shore had fentanyl and other drugs in her system at the time of the May 9 crash that killed a 78-year-old woman in Brick Township, authorities announced Monday. Ashley Watkins of Eatontown was heading south on Lanes Mill Road in a 2011 Toyota Camry when she crossed over the center line and struck a 2014 Dodge Caravan at Greenwood Loop head-on around 9:45 a.m., according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. A 75-year-old woman was hospitalized and 59 other apartment house tenants evacuated during a three-alarm fire in Ocean County, authorities said. The fire gutted a third-floor apartment at George J. Conway Towers on Chambers Bridge Road on Saturday, according to Brick Township police.
