: Paterson Officer Charged By State Authorities For Shooting Fleeing Man In Back
"Drop the gun!" a Paterson police officer shouted several times as he chased a fleeing man down a city street before dawn this past June. Suddenly, two shots rang out and unarmed 28-year-old Khalif Cooper fell face down in the street. Officer Jerry Moravek, who fired the shots, handcuffed Cooper, who is heard on police bodycam video telling him, "I don't got no gun." He didn't have one, said New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. South Jersey Police, EMS Respond To Motorcycle Crash In Gloucester
Police, firefighters and EMS crews were at the scene of a serious motorcycle crash in Camden County, authorities said. The crash occurred about 3:30 p.m. at Jarvis and Kearsley roads in Gloucester Township, according to initial reports. An unconfirmed report said that the motorcycle rider was down and bleeding from her face with a head injury. Advanced life support crews were called to the scene of the crash. Authorities: Mahwah Woman Stabbed Dead, Husband In Custody After Calling Police
UPDATE: Authorities on Tuesday night identified a Mahwah retiree who they said stabbed his wife dead with a kitchen knife after her morning shower. Dieter R. Zimmerman, 73, called police around 7:45 a.m. from the couple's home on Indian Field Court, a townhouse development off Belgrove Drive near the Rockland border, to tell them what happened, authorities said.
