A quick-moving storm will sweep through the Northeast bringing widespread rainfall with sleet in some areas farthest inland. The system will move from west to east starting Wednesday night, Feb. 26 with precipitation continuing at times on Thursday, Feb. 27, according to the National Weather Service. The system will come after a stretch of days with above-average temperatures. 60 MPH Winds, Heavy Rain Will Batter Morris County: Outages, Flooding Possible
A powerful storm system is sweeping across New Jersey on Sunday, Feb. 16, bringing damaging winds, heavy rain, and the potential for flooding and power outages, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The strongest winds are expected to peak in the afternoon into the evening, with gusts between 50 and 60 mph hitting many areas across the state. Hundreds Without Power In NJ, More Storms Possible Late In The Day
Thousands of New Jersey residents woke up Monday morning, Aug. 19 without power due to Sunday's storm. And according to the National Weather Service, more stormy weather could be on the way for later in the day. As of 6:40 a.m., JCP&L was reporting the most outages with the following areas without power: Clinton, 880; Branchville, 150; Hopatcong, 215; Long Branch/Asbury Park, 350; Lakewood, 265. Jose Angeles Lopez, a 30-year-old New Jersey man, was enjoying a barbecue in his backyard when he was killed by a falling tree on the evening of Wednesday, June 26, authorities.
