Three off-duty police officers sprang into action early Sunday morning, Feb. 23, pulling guests from a burning motel before firefighters arrived, authorities said. One person is in critical condition after three people were shot in Newark on the morning of Wednesday, February 19, authorities said. A 10:11 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of South 17th Street and found three people, two women and one man shot, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The shooting victims were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, Miranda said.
