Cops ID Man Killed By Driver Who Veered Off Route 46 A 64-year-old Independence Township man was identified as the victim struck and killed by a vehicle that veered off Route 46 and onto the sidewalk in Hackettstown Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, authorities said. At 10:52 a.m., a 2018 GMC Canyon, driven by a 61-year-old Flanders man, veered off the road and hit Roynaldo Tabeta while he was walking on the sidewalk in front of the CVS Pharmacy on Main Street, Hackettstown police said. Man Busted For DWI After Driving On Sidewalk: Hackettstown PD A 67-year-old Independence Township man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after driving his vehicle on the sidewalk on Sunday, June 2, authorities said. At 5:02 p.m., officers responded to Main Street near West Plane Street on reports of an erratic vehicle driving on the sidewalk and hitting a parked car, Hackettstown police said. Police ordered Bipen Patel out of the vehicle and determined he was under the influence of alcohol, officers said.
