A 28-year-old Ocean Township resident was arrested and charged on Monday, March 10 with a fatally stabbing a man in Neptune City last week, authorities said. Zhahiem Spann is charged with murder in the first degree and multiple weapons offenses, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago and Neptune City Police Department Chief Matthew Quagliato said. A 24-year-old Neptune Township man died on Wednesday, March 5 after being stabbed on Tuesday, March 4 in Neptune City, authorities said. At 11:31 p.m., Neptune City police responded to a stabbing on the 200 block of West Sylvania Avenue and found Kaylib Paul with stab wounds, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago and Neptune City Police Department Chief Matthew Quagliato said. A man was hospitalized following a stabbing in Neptune City on the morning of Wednesday, March 5, authorities said. The stabbing occurred at the 200 block of West Sylvania Avenue, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said. The man's status is unknown. A 57-year-old former performing arts teacher in Ocean County was sentenced to parole supervision on Friday, Feb. 28, after pleading guilty to having inappropriate sexual contact with a child, authorities said. Burglar Ignited Fire That Destroyed Jersey Shore Home, Prosecutors Say
An Asbury Park man was accused of arson and burglary after a fire destroyed a Deal home, authorities said. Nasyr-Alaire Fisher, 20, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 29, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. Firefighters responded to the two-alarm house fire on Lady Bess Drive at around 6:31 a.m. Crews put out the flames and remained at the scene for about five hours, the Deal Fire Department said in a Facebook post. Neptune City and Wanamassa firefighters also responded to the scene. Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post.
