JCP&L To Spend $12.5M On Underwater Power Line Upgrade For NJ Barrier Islands
Jersey Central Power & Light will replace a high-voltage underwater power line in Barnegat Bay to improve reliability for more than 13,000 customers on New Jersey’s barrier islands, officials said. JCP&L will invest $12.5 million to replace an aging underwater power line beneath Barnegat Bay, FirstEnergy Corporation said in a news release on Friday, Nov. 22. Large Water Main Break Douses Homes, Displaces Several Central Jersey Residents
A large water main broke in Edison, displacing residents and dousing two homes, officials said. The 30-inch water main break happened on Woodbrook Drive on Monday, Aug. 12, Mayor Sam Joshi said in a Facebook post at 5:04 p.m. The mayor shared three photos showing water heavily spraying a blue home. Mayor Joshi also said contractor work caused the rupture to the lines owned by Middlesex Water Company. Water Restrictions Issued Across These Jersey Shore Counties
Customers in two counties were asked to conserve water as crews made emergency repairs at a treatment plant, officials said. New Jersey American Water issued a mandatory outdoor water conservation restriction for customers in Monmouth and Ocean counties, the company said in a news release on Sunday, July 14. The order was expected to last for 48 hours. The company said crews will fix a 36-inch valve at its Jumping Brook Water Treatment Plant in Neptune. Nearly $6M In Federal Money Awarded To NJ Waterfront Development, Ferry Terminal
Nearly $6 million in federal infrastructure money will go toward the redevelopment of the waterfront including a new Ferry Terminal in Carteret, federal and local officials announced on Wednesday, June 26. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg unveiled $1.8 billion for 148 projects nationwide under the Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program.
