2 Guns Recovered, 3 Arrested After Atlantic City Drug Deal: Police
Atlantic City police recovered two handguns and arrested three people after officers allegedly witnessed a drug deal, authorities said. On Tuesday, July 18, at about 8 p.m., Detectives Alberto Valles and Christopher Dodson and Officers Brandon Bower and William Harned were patrolling the Bungalow Park section of Atlantic City. They saw Xavier Leon Jr. approach a vehicle with Joseph Hill and Shabria Cooper-Carter inside in the 700 block of Wabash Avenue, police said. Brick Brandishing Philly Man Beats 67-Year-Old Victim On AC Boardwalk: Police
A 43-year-old Philadelphia man was still holding the t-shirt he used to wrap around a brick and beat a 67-year-old woman with when Atlantic City police arrived at the scene, they said. A passerby intervened as Samuel Cooper struck the victim on the 2700 block of the boardwalk around 4:10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, Atlantic City police said. Officers William Harned and Adrianna Petinga found the woman bleeding from the head, as Cooper remained at the scene still holding the t-shirt, authorities said. Guns Recovered, Man Arrested After Atlantic City Foot Chase
A 26-year-old man from Cumberland County was arrested with two handguns in Atlantic City, authorities said. At 3:55 a.m. on Monday, July 18, Atlantic City Police Officers William Harned and Adrianna Petinga were on assignment in the 3000 block of the boardwalk assisting with a large crowd when they observed a man drop what the officers believed to be a handgun. Officers then observed the man attempt to retrieve the handgun at which time they gave him verbal commands to not pick up the weapon.
