Vineland's Bernadette DiDomenico-Bentz Bernadette I. DiDomenico-Bentz died at home on Thursday, May 16, according to an obituary published by Pancoast Funeral Home. She was 55 years old. Bernadette graduated in 1987 from Vineland High School, her obituary said. She owned her own salon, the Hair Hut, for many years, her obit said. Bernadette loved knitting and crocheting scarves and blankets for her family. Police Investigate Threats Against South Jersey High School Police in Cumberland County seek the public’s help in identifying those responsible for social media threats against Vineland High School. The Vineland Police Department said it increased its presence at local schools Tuesday, Feb. 13 as it investigates current school threats posted on social media recently. Police are investigating the validity and source of the threats, they said.  Officials urged anyone with information to call 856-691-4111, ext. 4190, or email vpdjuvenile@vinelandcity.org.

John Marchuk Jr., 33, Vineland Barber John F. Marchuk, Jr., of Vineland, died on Feb. 7, according to an obituary published by DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home. He was 33 years old. Johnny was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of 2010, his obituary said. He studied cosmetology at Cumberland County Technical Education Center and worked as a barber in various local barbershops in Vineland. He loved fishing, video games and movies, his obit said. Swimmer, 21, Drowns At Ocean City Park A 21-year-old man from Cumberland County drowned after getting caught in a rip current off Corson’s Inlet State Park in Ocean City, authorities said. Members of the Ocean City Beach Patrol gave CPR to Nathaniel Figueroa of Vineland before he was brought to Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point where he died on Friday, June 17, according to New Jersey State Park Police. Authorities ID Vineland High School Boy, 15, Shot Dead Authorities have identified the Vineland High School boy shot dead on Thursday, May 26. Anthony Torres-Sanchez was killed in the shooting, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. The shooting was not a random act, she said.  At 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Vineland police responded to 1811 North Delsea Drive for a gunshot victim.  The victim was transported to Inspira Medical Center – Vineland where he succumbed to his injuries, she said.
