Pedestrian, 58, Killed In South Jersey Hit-And-Run Crash: Police Police were looking for whoever killed a Turnersville man while walking on a Gloucester County road at night, authorities said. John DeMarco, 58, died in the hit-and-run crash on Monday, Nov. 4, the Washington Township Police Department said in a news release. Officers responded to the scene at around 8:09 p.m. Investigators said DeMarco was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking on the southbound side of Fries Mill Road near the intersection with Adele Drive. Motorcycle, ATV Drivers Killed In Rear-End Crash In Vineland: Police Two people from Vineland were killed when a motorcycle and an ATV crashed late at night, authorities said. Vincent Hogan Jr., 31, and Daniel Teapila-Portillo, 26, died in the crash, the Vineland Police Department said in a news release on Monday, Aug. 26. Driver, 83, Killed In 2-Car Crash In South Jersey: Police An 83-year-old woman was killed in a two-car crash in Burlington Township, authorities said Rose Zampino, of Burlington Township, was driving a Mitsubishi sedan north on Route 541 near Kelly Drive at about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, when a southbound Volvo SUV struck her vehicle, Burlington Township police said. Wheelchair Death A 79-year-old man in a wheelchair was struck and killed by a car in Salem County, authorities said. Chester Avant, of Pedricktown, died from his injuries, according to New Jersey State Police. State Troopers were called to the intersection of New Road and Pennsville Pedtricktown Road in Oldmans Township at about 4:15 a.m. Monday, April 15, said Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron, a NJSP spokesman. A Buick was northbound on the Pennsville Pedricktown Road when it struck Avant, Lebron said.  Lebron said no one else was injured. The incident remains under investigation.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed Along Route 130 In Camden County A pedestrian was struck and killed along Route 130 in Pennsauken, authorities said. It marked the fourth fatal crash along the Camden County highway since Feb. 1, three of them involving pedestrians.  The latest pedestrian fatality occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, according to daily New Jersey State Police fatal crash data. It also marked the 12th fatal crash in Camden County this year including six pedestrians. Pennsauken police were not immediately available for comment.
