Navy Sailor Left Grieving Dog Sees Community Support After NJ Hit-Run
Support is on the rise for a 25-year-old Atlantic County man and former US Navy sailor who was left with critical injuries in a hit-and-run crash, which also killed his dog. Syed Hoque and his dog, Duca, were struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday, Nov. 30, in Absecon, authorities said. The crash occurred shortly after midnight at Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue, where Duca was tragically killed. High Winds Wreak Havoc In NJ Leaving Roads Closed, Hundreds Without Power
Wind gusts up to 50 mph were wreaking havoc across New Jersey on Friday, Aug. 9. As of 2:30 p.m., thousands of residents were without power and multiple roadways were closed due to downed wires and related crashes. The National Weather Service also issued a new tornado watch across North Jersey. An earlier watch for South Jersey and much of Pennsylvania has been lifted. Tractor-Trailer Flips On Routes 30 & 73 In Camden County (

A tractor-trailer overturned on the Route 30 westbound ramp to southbound Route 73 in Camden County, authorities said. The crash at 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25 caused the closure of both exit ramps in Waterford Township, according to the NJDOT. Check back for updates.

A man barricaded with firearms and discharging the weapons brought a heavy police presence to a home in Evesham Monday morning, June 17. He was taken into custody by 9 a.m., Evesham police said; Officers were at a home on Brookfield Drive as of 7:30 a.m. and all residents near the home were being sheltered in place. More than 60 people have been arrested in connection with a protest that completely shutdown I-676 in Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon, March 30, authorities said. The protestors were from the Party for Socialism and Liberation, and ran onto the highway at Broad Street around 4 p.m., causing disruptions to traffic flow, Philadelphia police said at the time. Traffic Signal Down Closing Route 77 In Salem County
A traffic signal is down blocking traffic in both directions on Route 77 in Salem County, authorities said. The mishap occurred about 3:10 p.m. on Thursday, July 6 near Route 611 (Elmer-Shirley Road) in Upper Pittsgrove Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation. NJ Turnpike Blocked By Tractor-Trailer Crash: State Police
The northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike were blocked after a tractor-trailer crashed, authorities said. The truck became fully engulfed in flames at about 5:55 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, State Police said. The crash occurred at milepost 30.6 in Cherry Hill Township. No injuries were reported and the truck was removed shortly after 7 a.m., a State Police spokesman said. The cause and circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
