Atlantic City Man Admits To 2018 Killing While Stealing SUV, Prosecutors Say
An Atlantic City man admitted to killing a Ventnor City man while trying to steal his SUV almost six years ago, authorities said. Angelo Delgado, 22, pleaded guilty on Thursday, Aug. 22 to first-degree felony murder, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. He was charged in the death of 61-year-old Sunil Edla on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018. A 27-year-old man from Ocean County has admitted to a shooting in Atlantic City, authorities said. Louis Stokes, of Barnegat, pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, and third-degree hindering apprehension on Thursday, July 25, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. Two Atlantic City teens were arrested after they assaulted a delivery driver and stole his vehicle, authorities said. Atlantic City police responded to the report of a carjacking on Sewell Avenue at 2:57 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, the department announced in a news release on Tuesday, Feb. 13. Officers found the 35-year-old male delivery driver suffering from injuries in the assault. Investigators said the man was making a delivery when he saw a teen boy trying to steal his vehicle. A 19-year-old Atlantic City man was arrested with a handgun after a foot chase, authorities said. A ShotSpotter alert led to an arrest and the recovery of four handguns in Atlantic City. On Friday, Oct. 14 at 11:30 p.m., Atlantic City police responded to the intersection of Pennsylvania and Adriatic avenues. Responding officers arrived to find evidence of gunfire and received an update of a possible shooting victim at a residence in the 1000 block of Sewell Avenue.
