Thunderstorms With Hail, 65 MPH Winds Threaten Northeast As Temps Soar Mid-Week: Forecasters Following a stretch of seasonably chilly weather, temps will trend upward unleashing a surge of powerful storms along the East Coast, forecasters say. Sunday, Feb. 25 could be the last day of winter chill for several days with temps in the low 40s and sunny skies, the National Weather Service says. Monday will be warm and sunny as temperatures rise to the mid-50s. Tuesday will reach near 60 degrees and will be partly sunny with a chance of rain in the afternoon and evening. Tornado Watch In Effect For South Jersey A tornado watch is in effect for 10 counties in New Jersey until 11 p.m. Monday Aug. 7, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado watch includes Mercer, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, the NWS said. Also, the tornado warning was extended to Hunterdon and Warren counties. There also is a watch for severe thunderstorms from Cumberland County north to Trenton. A slighter chance of thunderstorms exists along the Jersey Shore.

Severe Thunderstorm, Tornado Watch In Effect For South Jersey Strong to severe thunderstorms will move through the area Monday afternoon, Aug. 7 and Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service. The storms will bring the potential for damaging wind gusts, a few tornadoes, and localized flash flooding, the NWS said. The tornado watch includes Mercer, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, the NWS said. A slighter chance of thunderstorms exists along the Jersey Shore.
