These Are South Jersey's Top Public High Schools: New Rankings Released
Three Jersey Shore public high schools were recognized among the 100 best in the U.S., according to an education data website. Niche has released its 2025 Best Public High Schools in America list. The website said its rankings are based on "rigorous analysis of key statistics," U.S. Department of Education data, and millions of reviews from students and parents. South Jersey Truck Driver Arrested In Fiery Triple-Fatal Route 1 Crash, Authorities Say
A Bridgeton man has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in Georgia and charged with aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide in the fiery crash that killed there people on Route 1 in South Brunswick in April, authorities said. The tractor-trailer driver, Joseph Vega, 43, of Bridgeton, was transporting an oversized concrete load when it failed to stop for a red light at the intersection resulting in the fatal collision, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and South Brunswick Police Chief Raymond Hayducka. A son is pleading for financial help after his parents' home was burglarized and precious family heirlooms stolen in Mercer County. Ethan Wang of Princeton Junction said his parents, Sara Wang and John Kang, "work themselves to the bone" at a restaurant they've run in West Windsor for 25 years called Hot Wok Cafe. Toms River Company Among 19 NJ Businesses Who Owe $1.1M In Unpaid Dues, State Says
Nineteen businesses who owe a total of $1.1 million have been barred from public contracting until they pay back their dues, the New Jersey Department of Labor said. R.A. Florio Building Contractors Inc., of Toms River, for example, has been ordered to pay $39,555.57 to the state, according to the department of labor and workforce development. 'Covered In Blood': Charges Upgraded For Man Who Killed His Mom In Gruesome NJ Attack
Charges have been upgraded for a 44-year-old Central Jersey man whose mother died a week after a gruesome attack, police said. Herbert Roberts, of Plainsboro, is believed to have attacked his 73-year-old mom, Beverly Roberts, of Princeton Junction, the afternoon of Friday, Aug. 18, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. Beverly was flown to Newark University Hospital after she was found covered in blood with severe injuries to her head and eyes, Ciccone said alongside Chief Eamon Blanchard of the Plainsboro Police Department. Details Released In Amtrak Strike Of Man, 39, That Caused Major Delays
A 39-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in New Jersey, delaying rail service between Philadelphia and New York City Tuesday evening, Feb. 28, authorities said. The name of the man killed had not been released pending notification of family, said Lt. John Bresnen of the Plainsboro Police Department. Amtrak train 178 was traveling from Washington D.C. to Boston at 6:54 p.m. when the victim was struck east of Princeton Junction, an Amtrak spokesman said.
