A civilian employee of the Atlantic City Police Department, who was in charge of payroll, billed for hours of work when she wasn't at work, authorities said.
Suzanne Ricketts, 43, of Pleasantville, was indicted by an Atlantic County grand jury for official misconduct, theft by deception, and computer crimes on Thursday, July 20, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
In 2020, the Atlantic City Police Department began investigating alleged discrepancies in Ricketts’ timesheets, the prosecutor said.

Trio Charged With Drug Offenses In Atlantic City: Police
Three people were charged with various drug-related offenses in Atlantic City, authorities said.
A handgun also was recovered on June 29, according to Atlantic City police.
A court-ordered search warrant on the home of Kassandra Beebe, 33, of Atlantic City. turned up more than 24 grams of methamphetamine, 52 bags of heroin, three grams of cocaine, and prescription pills.
Beebe was charged with dealing drugs.
Anthony Savage, 38, of Pleasantville, was charged with possession of drugs.
Beebe and Savage were released pending court appearances.

5 Arrested For Drug Dealing In Atlantic City: Police
Five people were arrested on drug-related charges in Atlantic City, authorities said.
On Friday, June 23, Atlantic City Detective Christopher Dodson conducted surveillance in the first block of south Tennessee Avenue targeting individuals that were selling, buying, or possessing drugs, police said.
During the operation, four men and a woman were arrested. Officers recovered 48 grams of cocaine, three grams of heroin, and more than three grams of ecstasy, police said.

South Jersey Woman, 48, Charged With Setting Row Home Fire: Police
A 48-year-old woman from Pleasantville has been charged with setting a massive fire in Atlantic City, authorities said.
The three-alarm blaze displaced multiple residents, they said.
On Wednesday, June 21, at 1:01 p.m., police officers, firefighters, and medical personnel responded to a structure fire in the 1500 block of Belfield Avenue.
The structure is a series of row homes that contain multiple units.
The building was occupied at the time of the fire, and as many as 10 residents were rescued by first responders, police said.

Rasul Palmer, 31, of Pleasantville, pleaded guilty to second-degree certain persons not to possess firearms, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
The plea on Tuesday, June 6 came in exchange for a five-year term in New Jersey State Prison, with a five-year period of parole ineligibility, the Prosecutor's Office said.

A South Jersey man has been sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison in connection with three separate crimes, authorities said.
Deshoin Rowell, 22, of Northfield, was sentenced on Wednesday, May 31, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Among his crimes was setting a guest on fire during a bonfire at his home on July 4, 2021, the prosecutor said.
