Vineland Man, 78, Killed While Crossing Street: Police A Vineland man was killed when he was walking across a road in the city, authorities said. George Chryssomitis, 78, died in the crash, the Vineland Police Department said in a news release on Friday, Oct. 25.  Officers responded to the intersection of North Main Road and Fairmount Avenue at around 5:08 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Chryssomitis was found with significant injuries and pronounced dead at the scene. Toms River Man, 45, Fatally Struck By 2 Cars Over The Weekend: Police Police have identified the 45-year-old man fatally struck by two cars in Ocean County over the weekend. Paul Mount, of Toms River, was in the northbound lane of County Route 571 when he was struck by a black 2018 Ford Explorer and a black 2021 Toyota Highlander around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 3 in Manchester Township, local police said. Man Killed By Train In Somerset County A man was struck and killed by a a train in Somerset County, suspending service to NJ Transit's Morris & Essex line Saturday, Feb. 26, authorities said.
