Man Sentenced For 2021 New Year's Day Stabbing At South Jersey Park, Prosecutors Say A Ventnor City man will spend several years in prison after stabbing a man in Absecon on New Year's Day nearly four years ago, authorities said. William Clanton, 24, was sentenced on Thursday, Nov. 7 to three years in state prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release. One Wounded In South Jersey Shooting One person was wounded in a Salem City shooting on New Year's Day, authorities said. Multiple shots were reported at about 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1 near Long Lane and Carpenter and Hedge streets, Salem City police said. The wounded person sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said. No arrests had been made but the shooting remains under investigation.
