The New Jersey Lottery said the winning ticket in the Tuesday, Mar. 26 drawing was purchased at ShopRite Wine & Spirits on Route 66 in Neptune. No winner had come forward publicly as of Friday, Mar. 29, and state law allows large lottery jackpot winners to remain anonymous.
The winning numbers were 7, 11, 22, 29, and 38, and the MegaBall was 4.

Twin brothers were among some of the last babies born in 2023 and the first of 2024 in New Jersey.
Ezra was born at 11:48 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, while his little brother Ezekial was born at 12:28 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at Virtua Voorhees Hospital in Camden.
Ezra weighed 6 pounds and measured 18¾ inches long, while Ezekial weighed 4 pounds and measured 17¼ inches long. To make their birthdays even more special, Ezra shares his birthday with his dad, Billy, who is a New Year’s Eve baby, too.

20 Cats Rescued From Bug-Infested Jersey Shore Apartment: Officials
Twenty cats — some with eye ulcers and respiratory problems — were rescued from a bug-infested apartment in Monmouth County, authorities said.
Monmouth County SPCA Humane Law Enforcement received an anonymous tip on Wednesday, Nov. 1. The apartment in Neptune had two adults, and two children, ages 6 and 3 also living there.
Many of the cats were found to have had upper respiratory infections, eye ulcers, some with dental disease, and were all very scared upon intake, but generally in fair health, the SPCA said on Facebook.

Authorities ID Woman, 93, Killed In House Fire On Jersey Shore
Authorities have identified the woman killed in a house fire in Belmar on Wednesday, March 15, authorities said.
Frances Colie, 93, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
The fire broke out at about 4 p.m. on the 1700 block of Surf Avenue.
There has been no indication of any foul play being involved, the prosecutor's office said.
An investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, involving members of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office, is ongoing.

Ocean County native and beloved brother Eugene Ado Ozonuwe died at St. Francis hospital in Trenton on Friday, Sept. 30. He was 27.
Born in Neptune, Eugene grew up in Jackson and graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 2016, his obituary says.
More than $8,300 had been raised on a GoFundMe for Eugene’s funeral expenses as of Monday, Oct. 24.
