Man Sentenced For Deadly Stabbing At South Jersey Motel, Prosecutors Say
A Riverton man will spend up to two decades in prison for stabbing a man to death at a Mount Laurel motel, authorities said. Taylor Perkins, 30, was sentenced to 20 years in state prison, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw said in a news release on Friday, Oct. 25. He was found guilty in the death of 36-year-old Michael Jefferies of Mount Laurel. 2 Crashes Jam New Jersey Highways
Two separate crashes were causing delays on New Jersey highways Thursday afternoon, Oct. 17. The NJDOT site shows a vehicle overturned on Route 130 in Hamilton Township (Mercer County) in the northbound lanes around 2 p.m. It happened north of I-195 and closed one right lane. Then, on Route 295, a crash took out two right lanes in the northbound lanes south of Exit 40 in Mount Laurel. Delays between 10 and 20 minutes were reported for each.

Route 73 To Remain Closed Overnight Following Crash That Downed Power Lines: Police
A portion of Route 73 will remain closed overnight following a crash on Thursday, Sept. 12. The crash involved a vehicle that struck a utility pole in front of the Lukoil at 921 North Route 73 in Mount Laurel around noon, police said. PSE&G was called to the scene as power lines fell, blocking the roadway and Fellowship Road. While no injuries were reported, the road was expected to reopen sometime Friday, Sept. 13.

Police ID 88-Year-Old Driver Killed In South Jersey Crash
Police have identified the woman killed in a three-car crash in Mount Laurel last week. Patricia Pierson, 88, of Mount Laurel died of her injuries several hours after the crash at the intersection of Elbo Lane and Amaryllis Boulevard, police said. No one else was injured in the crash, which occurred at 12:35 p.m. on Thursday, June 6. No charges had been filed. The crash remains under investigation.

Tractor Trailer Overturns, Becomes Wedged Under Overpass On NJ Turnpike
A portion of the NJ Turnpike was closed in Mount Laurel Tuesday morning, May 7 due to an overnight accident. A Kenworth tractor-trailer was heading southbound when it lost control, struck a guardrail and overturned at milepost 37 around 3:35 a.m., NJSP Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said. The driver of the Kenworth suffered moderate injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The crash remains under investigation.

The crash occurred at about 12:50 p.m. on Monday, April 29 on the Turnpike's Interchange 4 ramp to the toll plaza in Mount Laurel, according to New Jersey State Police. Based on a preliminary investigation, the Volvo tractor-trailer overturned on its side, State Police said. As the result of the crash, the driver of the Volvo sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

An elusive ram was safely captured in Mount Laurel, authorities said. The township of Mount Laurel Division of Public Works and Mount Laurel police officers were able to capture the ram on Friday, Feb. 23 in a backyard on Horseshoe Drive.
