UPS Driver Attacked By Knife-Wielding South Jersey Man: Police A 50-year-old man from Sicklerville is accused of attacking a UPS driver with a knife, authorities said. Monroe Township police said they caught Ernest Peterson on top of the driver after he crashed into a curb at about 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17. Peterson had asked the UPS driver for a ride to the front of the Madison Court Apartments, police said. Steven Bass, 36, of Williamstown, was riding a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on Clayton Road in Monroe and collided with the truck, Monroe Township police said. South Jersey Driver, 37, Killed In Collision With Dump Truck A 37-year-old man from Camden County was killed when he struck a dump truck in Gloucester County, NJ Advance Media reported. Thurman H. Smith Jr., of Chesilhurst, was heading west on Route 322/Glassboro Road when he struck the vehicle around midnight Thursday, Oct. 6, the outlet said citing Monroe Township police. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene near Fries Mill Road. The 34-year-old dump truck driver was not injured.
