A 30-year-old New Jersey man will be spending several years in state prison for beating a cat so badly the animal had to be euthanized and for holding a gun to a person's head and cocking it when he tried walking away. Michael Ciarla, of Galloway Township, was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Bernard E. DeLury Jr., to one year in state prison without parole for aggravated assault, and a consecutive term of three years for animal cruelty via torture, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. South Jersey Man Pleads Guilty To Beating Up Cat, Pointing Handgun
A 26-year-old man from South Jersey has admitted to breaking numerous bones on his girlfriend's cat by slamming it in a door, authorities said. In a separate incident, he admitted to pointing a gun at someone, they said. Michael Ciarla, of Galloway Township, pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
