The Gaslight Anthem, Asbury Park Brewery Release Special Beer Before Concert At The Stone Pony
A New Jersey alternative rock band is releasing a special beer right before playing at an iconic Asbury Park concert venue. The Gaslight Anthem is partnering with Asbury Park Brewery to create "Stay Lucky," a limited-edition beer to be sold starting on Thursday, Aug. 15, the brewery said in a news release. The band that formed in New Brunswick in 2006 will perform at The Stone Pony on Friday, Aug. 16. Stay Lucky is a hazy IPA with peach and mango aromas with a 6.5 percent ABV. The mother of New Jersey rock and roll icon Jon Bon Jovi has died, according to an obituary. Carol Bongiovi died at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch on Tuesday, July 9, her obituary said. A cause of death was not given for the 83-year-old who was three days away from her 84th birthday. Garden State Parkway Service Area Renamed After Frank Sinatra
The Atlantic Service Area on the Garden State Parkway in Galloway has been renamed in honor of Frank Sinatra, a native of Hoboken, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. The name change became official on Thursday, April 21 when “Frank Sinatra Service Area” signs were installed on the Parkway. Gov. Phil Murphy announced last year that Parkway service areas would be renamed to honor New Jersey Hall of Fame inductees in the arts, entertainment, and sports. The Sayreville native purchased the 4,000-square-foot digs for $18.94 million in 2017.
